
The Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, at the invitation of the Regional Development Agency of the Odesa region, took part in the “Black Sea Sustainable Development Forum” held on June 27, 2024 in the city of Odesa. The event gathered 300 participants in online and offline formats, including representatives of communities in the South, all-Ukrainian experts in the field of regional development and international partners, namely from Kherson region, Kirovohrad region, Mykolaiv region, Kyiv region, Germany, UAE, USA and the Netherlands.
The director of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine congratulated the participants of the forum and expressed the opinion that the Forum is both an effective platform for the exchange of experience, ideas and projects aimed at the restoration and development of the Southern territories of the country, as well as an important step on the way to the sustainable development and prosperity of our country – Ukraine.
The Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Ph.D., made a speech at the Forum. Zuryan Oleksiy Volodymyrovych. Participants discussed key aspects of infrastructure reconstruction, investment attraction, economic development, participation in European Union programs and cross-border cooperation as key elements of recovery.
Among the speakers were leading experts in the fields of green energy, industrial parks, rehabilitation tourism, economy and water resources, who shared their views on the current challenges and opportunities facing Ukrainian communities. The forum also became a great opportunity to establish partnerships and find new sources of funding.
