WHO WE ARE

The Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (hereinafter – the Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) was established in 2003 as part of the Department of Physical and Technical Problems of Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with the aim of further development and coordination of research in the field of renewable energy sources and ensuring the use of their results for the implementation of Resolution of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine No. 299 dated 10.12.2003

The main areas of activity of the Institute were approved by the Resolution of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine:

• physical and technical basis of the processes of conversion and use of solar energy;
• scientific foundations of wind energy conversion and use;
• thermophysical basics of using geothermal energy;
• scientific basis of processes of transformation and use of energy of small rivers and seas;
• scientific basis of transformation and use of renewable organic energy carriers;
• technologies and systems of integrated use of renewable energy sources.
