Mykola Kuznetsov

Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Integrated Energy Systems, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Senior Researcher.

Education

In 1978, he graduated with honors from Kyiv State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, majoring in Mechanics.

In 1991, he defended his PhD (Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences) dissertation entitled “Dynamics of Shell Structures with a System of Elastically Attached Masses” in the specialty 01.02.04 – Mechanics of Deformable Solids.

In 2012, he was awarded the academic title of Senior Researcher in the specialty 05.14.08 – Conversion of Renewable Energy Sources.

In 2015, he defended his Doctor of Technical Sciences dissertation entitled “Probabilistic Characteristics of Wind Power Plant Output within an Electric Power System” in the specialty 05.14.08 – Conversion of Renewable Energy Sources.

1980–1993 — Research Institute “Hydroprylad” (Kyiv); Category I Engineer.

1993–1996 — Ukrainian-Dutch Joint Venture AtikaWest; Leading Specialist.

1996–1997 — Renewable Energy Resources Company (KVER LLC); Leading Specialist.

1997–2000 — Closed Joint-Stock Company Association of Regional Development Agencies of Ukraine; Leading Specialist.

2000–2008 — State Research and Industrial Enterprise Ukrenergomash; Leading Research Engineer.

Since 2008 — Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Senior Researcher. Since 2015, Head of the Department of Integrated Energy Systems, and since 2017, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs.

Non-conventional and renewable energy sources.

Author of more than 54 scientific publications, including over 30 research articles, 20 conference papers, 2 inventor’s certificates, and co-author of more than 20 research and development projects (R&D).
