Tamila Surzhik

Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Senior Researcher, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Education

In 1975, she graduated from the Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute, Faculty of Sanitary Engineering, with a degree in Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation.

In 1986, she defended her PhD (Candidate of Technical Sciences) dissertation entitled “Hydrodynamics and Heat Transfer in a Centrifugal Device for Waste Heat Recovery from Secondary Energy Resources.”

In 2016, she was awarded the academic title of Senior Researcher in the specialty Conversion of Renewable Energy Sources.

In 2021, she defended her Doctor of Technical Sciences dissertation entitled “Scientific and Technical Principles for Improving the Energy and Techno-Economic Efficiency of Solar Energy Conversion Systems.”

Professional Experience

Until 1988 — Research Institute of Sanitary Engineering and Building Equipment of the USSR Ministry of Building Materials; Postgraduate Researcher and Research Fellow in the Laboratory of Secondary Energy Resources.

1988–2004 — Institute of Electrodynamics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Division of Integrated Energy Systems with Renewable Energy Sources; Senior Researcher.

Since 2004 — Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Scientific Secretary.

Since 2005 — National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Department of Renewable Energy Sources; Associate Professor.

Area of Expertise

Renewable and non-conventional energy sources.

Publications

Author of 195 scientific publications, including 12 patents, 4 monographs, and 18 State Standards of Ukraine.
